Downloaded Paper

before i bought this stamp set, i saw Nicole's blog on Papertrey Inc. Her blog was the first i ever put on a feed discovery so i can check it out all the time. anyway, i guess it was a promotional thing, they offered a link to download paper to go with the stamp set. i think it is supposed to be for digital scrapbooking, but i just had to print out a couple sheets to see how it would look on cards. i think it would use way to much ink to print it out very often. but i like how it turned out on cards.

stamps: papertrey spiral bouquet

inks: su close to cocoa, old olive stamped off once

Silky Together Forever

this is the first try at the faux silk technique. it is stamping on tissue paper, wadding, unwadding, then i gluded it to vanilla paper. it has a bit of texture to it. i think to see the texture clearly, you can click on the pic to make it a little bigger.
stamps: su together forever, a muse thanks
inks: su black, mellow moss, pale plum, barely bananna
paper: su mellow moss, vanilla, black, cream tissue paper

A Muse Wedding

you've probably seen my card set advertised on the side, i used this couple stamp with a grateful stamp on them, and they are good for a bridal present.

Scalloped vs Popped

i used a new technique, i used cut up post-it notes on glossy paper, then brayered with soft sky ink. i took the post-its off and brayered again. also used the crayon resist technique. the card on the left has word window punches on the edges of the sentiment, the other has been popped up.

inks: black, soft sky
paper: su soft sky, bayou blue

Pumpkin Crazy

this is one of my candles that i took to our local apple festival in the fall. i stamped on tissue paper, then colored with markers. cut out my image, and held it against the candle. then covered it with wax paper and heated it with a heat gun, then pulled the wax paper off.

the cards in the background were colored with watercolor pencils, then i used my aqua pen to actually watercolor them. here is a sample of the card sets that i took to the festival.

stamps: su thoroughly thankful
inks: old olive, pumpkin pie, really rust, chocolate chip, really red, summer sun, creamy caramel

Rusty Embrace

I saw a card of nitestampers on splitcoaststampers, and was inspired for this one. I loved her popped up blooms, so i also had to pop mine up. I watercolored with an aquapen. I also used a new glitter pen on the popped up blooms. Pen is "at you spica", clear. i used a ribbon punch on one stem and just wrapped the ribbon from front to back then around to the front again.

here is a close up of the popped up blooms:

Embrace Life Watercolored

i had so much fun making these cards. i used michelle's new stamp set, and then put these cards together at mom's house. i watercolored the blooms by painting the whole bloom with more mustard ink, then going back over the edges with really rust ink. the left card center is popped up, but it is not showing up in the picture. the blooms are shiny because i used the crystal effects on them. (i saw that demonstrated on a card on splitcoaststampers.)

stamps: su embrace life

ink: black, really rust, more mustard

paper: black, vanilla, really rust, more mustard

Mossy Spring Solitude

i saw a card a lot like this on splitcoast stampers. i copied the colors and layout, and changed the amount of flowers and the paper color.

i liked it so well, i thought i could try it a couple different ways. the problem was that i ran out of ribbon. so one is without.

inks: su mellow moss, always artichoke, river rock

paper: su mellow moss, artichoke

Tote Bag

i went to a zag bag party and got inspired to make my own tote bag. when i went in hancock fabrics, i was immediately inspired by this black and white print. i had to have red with it, and when i saw the black, white and red material, i knew it would be perfect for the lining. i did not know when i picked out the pattern, that the tote would be as big as it is. it has a lot of pockets, everywhere, which i love, outside and inside.

barbara made a comment on this post asking about my pattern: i used McCall's #M4851 and used the directions for B picture, but had to adjust the amounts of material, because they have the body and outside pocket all the same material, where i used 2 different fabrics. i also used decorator fabrics, so it is heavier weight, i thought that would last longer, and the ladies at hancock fabrics urged me to use the heaviest weight fusible webbing, but be prepared, i broke 2 needles.

i like it so much, i may try to adjust the size a little smaller, and make another. i wanted a lot of different fabric at hancock fabrics. i think the next one may be in blues and greens.

Kissed Botanicals

all right, here is another old technique. i call it old, because i did it so long ago, that i don't remember how i did it. i know it is called kissing, because that is in the title of the card. i used the print pattern background stamp and the french script stamp, and embossed in copper. but i can't remember which way i did it. which did i ink up first? if anybody out there wants to comment and tell me how i did this, feel free. i might want to do this again sometime. i know i could try and figure it out, if my brain wasn't full of car problems right now. i can't concentrate on anything else. sorry. thanks for any help.

ink: su old olive, choc chip, real ruby

Wild about Plaid Makers

this is my latest baby card. i bought a new plaid maker stamp set that lets you change out all the designs and colors. my mom liked it so much that she wanted to keep it awhile, so this is the only example of the plaid that i have right now. i will make more when i get that set back. the baby stamps are mom's also. we always have fun stamping together. i think my favorite stamp is that one of the baby crying, you have to look close, but there is one little tooth showing in her mouth. on the front of the envelope that matches is the girl with one tooth and a new toothbrush. it is too cute.
stamps: baby firsts, baby time wheel
paper: su perfect plum, pretty in pink, white
ink: su pretty in pink, perfect plum, pixie pink, pale plum, blush blossom

well, this is my very first post of my very own blog. i can't tell you why i am doing this. i look at so many other blogs, i don't think the internet really needs another blog, but i guess i will share my cards and stuff with all of my friends and family.
i have also started to sell my stuff, so this is a good way for all of you to choose what you might like.
